Friends of Zanzibar Cathedral are not ourselves a registered charity.  We support Christ Church Cathedral in Zanzibar by publicizing the urgent need for funds to save this historic building. Zanzibar Anglican Cathedral – November 2015

Newly renovated cathedral, spire needs urgent work

As can be seen against the clean white building, restoration of the dark spire remains to be done. There is a very short window of opportunity in early 2016 to carry out this vital work, as the WMF Master of Works is scheduled to be on the island during that time. The cost of the works is estimated at 30,000 €uros (approximately US$28,000) towards which some 20,000 €uros has been raised. We therefore need to raise another 10,000 €uros. Please help us to achieve this target by the end of January 2016 to enable this work to be completed.

We are reaching out to friends for help to ensure this balance is raised by the deadline to ensure continuity and completion of the project. If you are in a position to possibly help or have ideas on how to generate the needed funds, we would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Please contact our communications director  or  Diocesan Secretary .

We would most certainly be grateful for your prayers at this critical moment.
